• Silver Creek Hot Springs at the Silver Creek is located in Boise National Forest
Silver Creek Hot Springs sits on the bank of Silver Creek just next to Silver Creek Plunge Hot Springs Resort & Camping. This area is managed by US Forest Service - Boise National Forest.
While the resort has a day-use fee, you can enjoy Silver Creek Hot Springs free of charge. However, if you are not a guest of the resort, please don't use its parking. If you only visit the undeveloped hot spring, you can park before the bridge and walk across it.
A geothermal mineral water source is located on the resort land and comes out of it directly into the resort pool and then flows down the hill through the pipe. It empties into the volunteer-built rock-and-sand pool. In July, the water coming through the pipe was about 99° F (37° C) while the temperature of the soaking pool was 97° F - 98° F (36° C - 37° C) in July.
Since the water comes directly from the resort, sometimes you can see pieces of paint from the pool. However, the water is still clean and hot.
Swimwear is recommended since you will be soaking near the resort and the road.
Beyond Hot Springs: Other Adventures
Rockhounding is productive on Silver Creek and other nearby rivers. You can even find the unique quartz mica shining in the water like silver. This mineral is the reason the creek got its name.
Fishing is great in the area, too.
You can also enjoy nature viewing, wildlife watching, camping at nearby campgrounds, and hiking at multiple trails of Boise National Forest.
Camping & Lodging
Silver Creek Campground sits nearby, with tent and RV spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The resort has cabins you must reserve in advance.
