Zims Hot Springs is located 5 miles north of New Meadows on the bank of the Little Salmon River in West-Central Idaho. Nestled in scenic Meadow Valley and surrounded by forested mountains, it’s a peaceful haven for outdoor enthusiasts and hot spring lovers.
The springs lie within the traditional lands of the Nez Perce Tribe, who once used these waters for warmth and healing. Today, visitors can enjoy the same soothing experience in a peaceful day-use setting.
Zims Campground also makes an excellent base for exploring the area — enjoy nearby hiking trails, fishing spots, winter skiing, and other natural hot springs.
Zims Hot Springs Geothermal Experience
Geothermal water is supplied from a deep artesian well at very high temperatures and a flow rate of about 90 gallons per minute. The water is cooled with river water before being directed into two pools: a smaller soaking pool kept at 100–105°F (38–41°C) and a larger swimming pool maintained between 90–100°F (32–38°C) year-round. The pools are treated with chlorine.
Facilities include changing rooms, restrooms, a snack bar, and arcade games. Towels, swimsuits, storage bins, and swim diapers are available for rent or purchase.
Zims Hot Springs Camping & Lodging
When it comes to accommodations, visitors can stay at Zims Hot Springs RV Park and Campground. The RV Park offers 12 sites with water and electric hookups, while the campground provides spacious sites with picnic tables and shade canopies.
