• Fountain of Youth RV Park' pool is fed by the historic Sacajawea Well geyser
Fountain of Youth RV Park is a classic Wyoming hot springs destination just two miles north of Thermopolis. It's known for its massive mineral hot pool - the largest in the state and one of the biggest in the world. The pool is fed by the historic Sacajawea Well geyser, which pumps over 1.3 million gallons of steaming hot mineral water every day.
Set against a backdrop of stunning red rock cliffs, this spot offers a peaceful, family-friendly soak with a laid-back Western vibe. The mineral pool is all-natural, chemical-free, and open from March 1 to October 31.
You'll find this spot right off US-20, surrounded by classic Wyoming scenery and just minutes from Thermopolis' shops and restaurants.
Fountain of Youth RV Park: Hot Springs & Geothermal Experience
Fountain of Youth RV Park's geothermal pool is truly spectacular. The mineral water comes straight from the Sacajawea Well, drilled in 1918. Instead of oil, the drillers struck hot water at 130°F. Today, the well pumps 1,370,000 gallons every 24 hours. It is enough to completely refill the 200-foot-long pool every 11 hours.
Fountain of Youth's mineral pool measures an impressive 200 feet in length and 72 feet in width, holding 84,600 cubic feet of water. The temperature ranges from a soothing 104°F at the warm end to 99°F at the outflow. Rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium, sulfate, and chloride, the water is both relaxing and therapeutic. For added convenience, the pool includes a wheelchair ramp, making it accessible to everyone.
With the impressive flow rate and constant water exchange, the pool always feels fresh and inviting. Floating in the natural mineral water, you'll see the colorful travertine formations created by decades of mineral deposits. It is a curious geological phenomenon and a perfect photo spot.
Swimsuits are mandatory.
Fun fact: The park hosts 75–100 baptisms each year thanks to the healing reputation of the water.
