State Bath House Hot Springs Water & Soaking

The hot mineral water flows right out of the earth at 135°F (57°C) before it's cooled to a safe and soothing 104°F (40°C) in the bathhouse pools. That's the perfect temperature for soaking. It's hot enough for comfort but not too much to handle.

Here's what you can expect at the State Bath House:

  • Two public mineral pools: One indoor, one outdoor.
  • Water temperature: Both pools are always 104°F (40°C), year-round.
  • Time limits: You are limited to 20 minutes in the indoor pool and 20 minutes in the outdoor pool because of health and safety concerns.
  • Free entry: That's right, no fee for soaking. It's a true Wyoming treat.
  • Open hours: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day (check for changes in winter and holidays).
  • Sulfur scent: The water has a slight sulfur scent.

Did you know? The State Bath House sees thousands of visitors each year, with over 18,000 gallons of hot water flowing through every 24 hours.

Swimsuits are required. There are locker rooms, showers, and plenty of places to relax between soaks.
