Hellie's TePee Pools and Spa is a fun, family-friendly spot in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Located within Hot Springs State Park, it's easy to reach from the Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway. The facility is renowned for its natural mineral hot spring pools, welcoming staff, and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for visitors of all ages.

You'll recognize the building by its unique shape—it looks like a large white teepee and sits steps away from the colorful mineral terraces and bubbling spring source. Steam rises from the water, carrying that familiar mineral scent through the air.

The mineral water at Hellie's comes from the spring at 131°F and then cools down to the perfect temperature for soaking. It's all-natural, with no chemicals added, and the water feels silky and soothing on your skin with a slight sulfur odor.

At Hellie’s TePee Pools and Spa, you’ll find a variety of ways to soak, splash, and relax.

The facility features three natural hot springs pools—one large indoor pool with waterfalls and slides, as well as two outdoor pools with mountain views.

The indoor pool maintains a temperature of around 100°F to 105°F, while the outdoor pools are slightly cooler, ranging from 94°F to 98°F.

There are also four mineral hot tubs—three indoors and one outdoors—with temperatures ranging from 98°F to 105°F.

For added fun, you can enjoy both indoor and outdoor water slides, with the outdoor slide open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.

The sauna and steam room offer extra warmth, while shaded outdoor tubs provide a relaxing spot out of the sun.

There’s even a baby pool for young children. With so much space to swim, soak, and float, it’s easy to spend hours enjoying everything from slides to hot tubs and back again.

Swimsuits are required. Bring your own towel and sandals. Lockers and showers are available on-site.

Hellie's TePee Pools is located in the heart of Hot Springs State Park, making it easy to enjoy other fun adventures nearby after your soak.

The park offers ten miles of trails, boardwalks, and sidewalks that meander through rainbow-colored travertine terraces, trace the Big Horn River, and cross the famous swinging bridge.

Keep an eye out for the park's resident bison herd, often seen grazing along the hills. In town, you'll find great places to eat, stay, and explore—including the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.

History lovers will enjoy a visit to the Legend Rock Petroglyph Site, where over 300 ancient figures are carved into 92 sandstone panels.

For a scenic drive, head down the Wind River Canyon Scenic Byway, known for its dramatic canyon views and chances to spot wildlife.

Hellie's TePee Pools and Spa is a day-use facility, and camping is not allowed within Hot Springs State Park. However, just two miles away, Fountain of Youth RV Park offers full-hookup RV sites along with other lodging options.
