• Bozeman Hot Springs is a geothermal haven offering an unforgettable experience near Yellowstone National Park
Bozeman Hot Springs is a geothermal mineral water paradise located in southwestern Montana, offering an unforgettable experience for those who enjoy soaking in developed hot springs ground. Just minutes from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, the resort is 8 miles west of Bozeman and 80 miles north of the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
With Montana State University nearby, Bozeman Hot Springs is a favorite destination for college students as well.
The resort’s history dates back to the 19th century, with the first bathhouse built in 1879. Over the years, the resort has changed ownership several times, with each new owner expanding and improving the facilities. Today, it’s a premier soaking destination featuring multiple amenities.
One of Bozeman Hot Springs’ most distinctive features is its rock garden, which surrounds the soaking area. This garden showcases Montana-native rocks and boulders, including a large totemic formation that stands at the center of the outdoor pools.
Geothermal Water & Soaking
The mineral water emerges from a spring well behind the resort at a temperature of 131° F. This water is channeled into nine indoor and outdoor pools and tubs.
There are four outdoor pools. Three of them are crescent-shaped soaking pools with varying temperatures ranging between 90° F and 104° F. The fourth pool, which is square and maintained at 86°F, is ideal for swimming or cooling down after a soak. All outdoor pools are slightly chlorinated.
The indoor pool area features a large square pool, three soaking tubs of various sizes, a cold plunge, a sauna, and a steam room. The large pool is kept between 80°F and 90°F, ensuring swimmers won’t overheat. The hot tubs are significantly warmer, with temperatures ranging from 100°F to 106°F, while the cold plunge offers a bracing 59°F experience.
One unique feature of the Bozeman hot waters is a high flow rate. Also, pools are drained and cleaned every night, so no chemicals are necessary.
As a developed facility, swimwear is mandatory at Bozeman Hot Springs.
The resort also offers swimming lessons and water aerobics classes. In the mornings, the larger pools are set up for lap swimming.
