Givens Hot Springs | Central Idaho

Givens Hot Springs is a historic site sitting right at the foot of the Owyhee Mountains in the scenic high desert near the Snake River. This hot springs destination offers an opportunity to soak in mineral-rich geothermal water just as locals and travelers did a hundred years ago.

The naturally mineralized water at Givens Hot Springs flows from an artesian well at about 135°F and then piped into a indoor swimming pool as well as into two indoor private soaking tubs. Water in the large pool is slightly chlorinated and its temperature ranges between 98°F and 100°F during winter months and 92°F to 95°F during summer months. Water in fill-and-drain private tubs can be adjusted up to 110°F.

Givens Hot Springs offers multiple accommodations including an RV park with water and electric hook up, a campground, two historic cabins, and two trailers. Amenities on the property also include picnic tables, fire rings, private dressing rooms, snack bar, event center, restrooms, showers as well as swimsuit and towel rentals. Other services such as a grocery store and a gas station can be found in the town of Marsing 11 miles away.

The hot spring location used to be a homestead for Given's family. It was founded in 1879 by Milford and Mattie Givens and later this area was improved with help of four of their sons. A bathhouse and a hotel were built in the early 1900s to allow people to enjoy the health benefits of hot mineral water. In 1939 the hotel burned to the ground a never was rebuilt again.

A covered wagon replica of Mid-1800s on the hot springs ground is a vivid reminder of the old time of first settlements who took a risk traveled to the West to seek out a better life.
