• Twin Springs Resort is a scenic historic site on the bank of the Middle Fork Boise River
• Each rental cabin has its own soaking tub
Twin Springs Resort is a fantastic place to soak in geothermally heated water while enjoying the natural beauty of the Central Idaho mountains. This rustic resort sits on the bank of the Middle Fork Boise River, 45 miles northeast of Boise and 40 miles southeast of the historic mining town of Atlanta.
The site's history dates back to the late 1800s, when the discovery of vast gold deposits triggered a gold rush. Gold mining was the main economic driver of the area until the mid-1900s. Logging was also a significant industry that supported the local economy.
The first cabin built on the property served as lodging, store, school, kitchen, and home for generations of residents. It was rebuilt, remodeled, and expanded multiple times throughout its history. While the original building is no longer standing, its foundation, along with mining relics and other remnants, can still be found on the site.

The area around the Middle Fork of the Boise River is known for several hot springs along the river's edge. While staying at the resort, take time to explore and enjoy as many of those soaking spots as you can.
Caution: The graded road to the resort is narrow and can become one lane in some places, with several rough and washboarded sections. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended. There is no cell service at the resort.
Twin Springs Hot Springs Experience
The sulfur-free mineral water emerges from the cliff at a temperature of 180°F. It gets piped directly to the hot tubs. Although the water at the source is very hot, it cools down naturally as it flows through and sprays from the pipes into the tubs. By that time, the water reaches a safe and comfortable soaking temperature. Each cabin features a private outdoor soaking tub, offering a relaxing and scenic mineral soak just steps from your door.
There is no day-use option; soaking is reserved for overnight guests only. Resort guests also have access to a steam sauna.

Twin Hot Springs Resort: Other Adventures
Twin Springs Resort offers year-round access to a wide range of outdoor activities. In the warmer months, guests can enjoy hiking through scenic mountain trails, mountain biking along rugged backroads, fishing in the Middle Fork Boise River, gold panning, kayaking, and tubing in the flowing river. Alternatively, the guests can only soak in nature's tranquility and do nothing else.
During winter, the area transforms into a snowy playground ideal for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and wildlife watching. ATV riding, hunting, and nature photography are popular throughout most of the year.
In addition to the private soaking experience at Twin Springs, the Middle Fork Boise River corridor is home to several wild and natural hot springs worth exploring.
Just a few miles from the resort, you will find Sheep Creek, Smith Cabin, Loftus, and Pete Creek Hot Springs.
Further upriver, especially closer to Atlanta, are other notable geothermal sites including Atlanta Hot Springs, Power Plant Recreation Area, and Chattanooga Hot Springs. These undeveloped pools, often nestled in rugged, scenic locations, provide opportunities for backcountry soaking surrounded by forested slopes and river views.
