Maple Grove Hot Springs is a rustic resort in the scenic Oneida Narrows Canyon
Maple Grove Hot Springs & Retreat Center is a rustic hot spring getaway nestled in the canyon of the Oneida Narrows Reservoir and the Bear River, approximately 20 miles from the Idaho-Nevada border. The 45-acre resort offers a great soaking opportunity amidst the scenic beauty of Southern Idaho, providing a fantastic escape for the entire family.
The springs, previously known as Hopkins Hot Springs, were operated as a commercial hot spring from the early 1900s until the 1960s. The property changed hands several times and underwent periods of disrepair and restoration.
This hot springs spot is open for both day-use and overnight stays. A reservation is required, even for day use. The property can be fully or partially reserved for your events, such as family gatherings, weddings, or birthdays.
Maple Grove Hot Springs uses solar and hydro-power to generate electricity. There is a general store, community kitchen, lockers, showers, and dressing rooms.

Maple Grove Hot Springs Experience
The property now has three soaking pools and a large therapy pool, all sitting close to or right on the riverbank.
Hot mineral water comes from several sources at temperatures exceeding 180°F (82°C). Water then flows into a large pond, where it cools. The network of geothermal water streams, rivers, and waterfalls feeds both the retreat pools and the Bear River. Please be careful, the source water is dangerously hot.
The soaking pools are roundly shaped and lined with mortar and rocks. The water temperature here ranges from 100°F to 107°F (38°-42°C). The temperature of the large therapy pool varies from 95°F to 100°F (35°-38°C).
Since all pools are flow-through, no chemical treatment is needed.

Beyond Hot Springs: Other Adventures
In addition to soaking, the area offers plenty of outdoor activities, including kayaking, swimming, hiking, and biking. Wildlife is also abundant, and you may spot deer, turkeys, swans, geese, and more during your visit.
For a different experience, consider Bear River Hot Springs about 20 miles away. This one focuses less on quiet soaking and more on family fun, with lively pools and thrilling water slides.

Maple Grove Hot Springs Accommodations
At Maple Grove Hot Springs, you can stay in cabins, yurts, canvas tents, or regular tent sites. All are set in the canyon close to the pools and the Bear River.
Guests also have access to a kitchen, showers, and a small store, making it an easy and comfortable place to stay.
