• Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa is a developed resort with 3 private soaking pools
• At Riverside, you can also enjoy fine dining and live music nights
Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa sits in the heart of Lava Hot Springs. It offers comfortable accommodations, fine dining, access to multiple outdoor adventures in the area, and, most importantly, hot mineral water soaking.
William "Billy" Richard Godfrey came to Idaho in 1896 for the first time to build a large cattle ranch. In 1912, he permanently moved here and constructed a hotel on the bank of the Portneuf River after seeing the benefits of the hot mineral water.
Billy built cement tubs for therapeutic baths, where many people found relief. The hotel even served as a hospital during the 1918 flu pandemic and saved many of its patients due to its central heating.
The founder also operated a taxi service to train station and helped those in need. He offered shelter and money to return home to people who arrived in town but couldn't make it.
Billy played a key role in establishing the town's first bank and organized entertainment events through "The Lava Amusement Company." He left a lasting impact on Lava Hot Springs before passing away in 1942.
Today, Riverside Hot Springs still has a vintage and cozy vibe mixed with developed and high-quality services for guests, carrying its creator's legacy. Interestingly, the hotel space is also heated with hot spring waters.
Riverside Hot Springs Inn is open year-round. Even if you are not staying overnight, you can still visit the spa and enjoy a soak, but you must make an advanced reservation.
Geothermal Water & Soaking
The geothermal odor-free mineral water comes from the source at 112° F (44° C) and is piped into the three soaking pools.
The pool's temperature ranges between 102° F and 106° F (39° C - 41° C). Each soaking pool is in a separate room where you can enjoy privacy.
You can also book various spa procedures, including different massages, such as deep tissue, dynamic cupping, bamboo, CBD muscle lotion, and more.
Please make sure to reserve the soaking rooms and spa services in advance.
Bathing suits are required in public areas.
