Home Hotel at Lava Hot Springs is a historic stay with private soaking and access to various outdoor adventures.

The healing properties of the mineral water of Lava Hot Springs were well known to the Shoshone-Bannock people. They called this area "Poha-Ba" or "Land of Healing Waters."

Once Europeans came to these lands, they enjoyed the springs too and started to settle here. The Home Hotel, built in 1918, was one of the first large buildings in the town.

In the 1970s, motel units were added to the east side of the original hotel, and the name was changed to Home Hotel & Motel. With the recent wave of renovations, the owners have changed the name to the more original Home Hotel Lava Hot Springs.
