Nestled near the Idaho-Montana border, 36 miles southwest of Missoula, Lolo Hot Springs Lodge offers a serene escape with rich history and rejuvenating mineral waters.
First described by Lewis and Clark during their 1805 expedition, the hot springs were cherished long before European settlers arrived, having been used by Native Americans for generations. By the 1880s, the site hosted its first health resort, and today, two distinct destinations—The Lodge at Lolo Hot Springs and Lolo Hot Springs Resort - carry on this tradition.
Lolo Hot Springs is a perfect year-round destination to soak in the healing geothermal waters and explore the surrounding wilderness.
Geothermal Water & Soaking Experience
The mineral-rich geothermal waters flow directly into two indoor grotto-style soaking pools. Each pool measures 20 feet by 6 feet, with a depth of 4 feet, and maintains a soothing temperature of 105°F (41°C).
Soaking is exclusive to overnight guests, as day-use is not available. Swimsuits are required in this fully developed facility.
Beyond Hot Springs: Other Adventures
Beyond the pools, Lolo Hot Springs is a hub for outdoor adventures. Guests can enjoy horseback riding, snowmobiling, fishing, wildlife watching, and hiking, including sections of the iconic Lewis & Clark Trail. During winter, explore over 500 miles of snowmobile trails at Lolo Pass.
For couples seeking a romantic getaway, the lodge offers a special "Romance Package" that includes plush bathrobes and champagne. One quirky highlight is a functional historic phone booth, perfect for a nostalgic call to loved ones.
Guests can start their day with a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, adding to the charm of this remote location. Please note that internet and cell service are limited, making it an ideal spot to disconnect and unwind.
Camping & Lodging
