• Mountain Village Lodge is an excellent escape into the breathtaking scenery of rural Idaho
Mountain Village Lodge is a motel, restaurant, and bar, offering guests a fantastic mineral-rich water soaking opportunity. The great outdoors is another bonus of the place.
The lodge features a soaking pool inside a log cabin, as well as several primitive pools nearby. Located in the small town of Stanley, the lodge sits on the bank of Valley Creek, which flows into the Salmon River just 0.3 miles away.
The town of Stanley has a general store, a dance hall, and a gas and service station.

Mountain Village Hot Springs Experience
Geothermal mineral water is piped into a wooden pool with a sandy floor. The pool is large enough to fit up to eight people. Depending on the season, the water temperature ranges from 98°F to 104°F (37°C to 40°C). The pool is in a log cabin with large doors that can be kept open so you can enjoy the stunning views of the mountains and creek. Inside, the cabin has benches and two changing rooms.
A few undeveloped pools can also be found along the creek bank. Snake Pit Hot Springs, for example, is just a hundred feet upstream at the pedestrian bridge.
Bathing suits are required, and soaking is by reservation only. Keep in mind that during busy times, you might have to share the pool with others -- private soaking is not guaranteed.

Beyond Hot Springs: Other Adventures
Depending on the season, outdoor lovers can enjoy a wide variety of activities in this scenic Idaho region. In summer, popular options include rafting, fishing, hiking, biking, camping, climbing, and horseback riding. Winter offers snowmobiling, ice skating, skiing, and snowshoeing.
Several other hot springs can be found in the Stanley area, mainly along the Salmon River. While staying at the lodge, you can explore Boat Box, Mormon Bend, Cove Creek, Sunbeam Hot Springs, and many more.
