Bear Lake Hot Springs is located near St. Charles in the southeastern corner of Idaho, near Bear Lake State Park. It provides access to geothermal mineral water, camping, and various outdoor adventures.
A fire destroyed the spring's cabins and a two-story hotel, leaving only one building. The only original structure now serves as an office, restaurant, game room, and dressing room.
The campground is pet-friendly, but pets aren't allowed in the pools. You can stay at the campsite or visit the spring during the day from May to September.
Geothermal Water & Soaking
Clear, blue geothermal water comes out of the source at 115° F (46° C) and is piped into the 2 outdoor pools.
The temperature in the pools ranges between 95° F and 103° F (35° C - 39° C) depending on the season. Pools are huge and can fit up to 40 people.
All pools are chemical-free, with a 75,000 gallons a day flow-through rate.
This is a family-friendly spot, so the bathsuits are mandatory.
Beyond Hot Springs: Other Adventures
The Bear Lake State Park, with Bear and Mud Lakes, is full of outdoor adventures.
You can rent boats, jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, and other equipment at the beach. The lakes are also excellent for fishing and have multiple boat ramps.

The spring's campground has a camping supplies store onsite.
