Bear Lake Hot Springs is a family-friendly hot spring destination on the shores of Bear Lake near St. Charles in southeastern Idaho. It offers geothermal mineral water soaking and easy access to a wide variety of outdoor activities.
A fire destroyed the resort’s cabins and two-story hotel, leaving only one original building. Today, that remaining structure serves as the office, restaurant, game room, and dressing room.
Visitors can still enjoy the hot springs on a day-use basis from May through September.
Bear Lake Geothermal Water & Soaking
Clear geothermal water emerges from the source at 115°F (46°C) and is piped into the two outdoor pools.
Pool temperatures range from 95°F to 103°F (35°C - 39°C), depending on the season. The pools are spacious and can accommodate up to 40 people.
All pools are chemical-free and operate with a flow-through rate of 75,000 gallons per day.
This is a family-friendly facility -- swimsuits are required.

Things to Do at Bear Lake Hot Springs
Bear Lake State Park, including Bear Lake and Mud Lake, offers a wide range of outdoor activities.
Visitors can rent boats, jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks, and other equipment at the beach. The lakes are also popular for fishing and feature multiple boat ramps.
You can dine at the on-site restaurant or visit St. Charles for additional dining options.
You will also find a store on the campground that sells camping supplies.
Bear Lake Camping & Lodging
Bear Lake Hot Springs Campground offers 34 RV hookups and tent sites.
The campground is pet-friendly, although pets are not allowed in the pools.
Visitors can stay at the campground from May through September.
