• Cove Warm Springs offers seasonal swimming in warm mineral water
• Features a swimming pool built over the spring source
Cove Warm Springs is located in the small town of Cove at the base of the Wallowa Mountains. Cove Warm Springs features the large swimming pool, picnic and playground areas.
The water of the springs is gathered into the large 60 by 65 feet concrete pool from the 15 by 15 feet gravel opening that looks like a dark patch on the pool's bottom. The continual water flow at a rate of 110 gallons per minute allows replacing all water in the pool several times a day. No chlorine is added because the water quality meets state water quality requirements. Both the springs and pool have a water temperature at 86-degree Fahrenheit which is perfect for summer swimming.
Operated continuously for almost eight decades, the Cove Warm Springs facility offers recreational swimming and picnicking. Also, senior citizen swim exercise classes are available.
The swimming pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
There are camping, hiking, and fishing opportunities in the Eagle Cap Wilderness (the Wallowa Mountains) east of Cove.
