Cove Warm Springs is a historic mineral pool surrounded by outdoor recreation in northeastern Oregon
Cove Warm Springs is located in the small town of Cove at the base of the Wallowa Mountains in northeastern Oregon. The facility features a large swimming pool, picnic areas, and a playground.
The spring water flows into a 60-by-65-foot concrete pool through a 15-by-15-foot gravel opening that appears as a dark patch on the pool floor.
The continuous flow of about 110 gallons per minute allows the pool water to be replaced several times a day. No chlorine is added because the water meets Oregon state water-quality requirements.
Both the spring and the pool are about 86°F (30°C), making the water comfortable for summer swimming.
Cove Warm Springs has operated continuously for more than eight decades and offers recreational swimming and picnicking. Senior swim-exercise classes are also available.
The swimming pool is typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Visitors should check the current schedule before visiting because hours can vary.
