Green Canyon Hot Springs, Campground and Resort, Idaho

Green Canyon Hot Springs is a historic hot springs resort with three pools and scenic canyon camping

Green Canyon Hot Springs, about 30 miles from Driggs and 53 miles from Idaho Falls, features three pools and a large campground surrounded by the emerald hills of Canyon Creek. In addition to soaking in its geothermal mineral waters, the property offers swimming lessons in a “swim camp” format. Both short- and long-term rental options are available nearby.

The springs’ history dates back to the 19th century. Long before European settlers arrived, Native Americans knew of the springs and valued their rejuvenating qualities.

In September 1812, explorer Robert Stuart and his party visited the site, camped nearby, and soaked in the warm waters before crossing the Big Hole Mountains into Teton Valley. Word of the healing springs spread quickly, attracting new settlers.

The Pincock family later moved into the area and built the first pool. Over time, they added dressing rooms, expanded the facilities, and developed a small recreational resort.
