Goldmyer Hot Springs is tucked deep in the Cascade Mountains, about 25 miles east of North Bend, Washington. If you’re searching for the unique Washington hot springs with a real wilderness adventure, this is it. You’ll need to hike 4.5 miles one way, pack your own gear, and make a reservation to soak here.

Amenities at Goldmyer are basic, including:

  • Open-air cabana for changing
  • Three outhouses
  • Two picnic tables
  • Campsites with food-hanging containers

Reservations are required. Goldmyer only allows 20 visitors per day, and weekends fill up fast.

Note: SUV or 4WD required with 8-9 inches of clearance minimum. Expect potholes, ruts, rocks, and possible downed trees. There is also no cell signal or internet there.

Goldmyer Hot Springs - Geothermal Water & Soaking

The geothermal water at Goldmyer Hot Springs comes out of a 30-foot mine shaft at a steamy 125° F (52° C). The water flows into three main soaking pools:

Cave Pool: About 111° F (44° C), feels like a sauna!

Middle Pool: Cools down to around 104° F (40° C).

Lower Pool: Around 98° F (37° C), perfect for relaxing.

Cold Plunge Pool: Just steps away for a refreshing dip.

The water is crystal clear, lightly mineralized, and has a pH of 8.5. No chemicals are added to the water, and clothing is optional.

Directions to Goldmyer Hot Springs

From North Bend,

  • Take Middle Fork Road (Forest Road 56) east for about 15 miles to the Dingford Creek Trailhead
  • Park at the trailhead and pass through the metal gate onto the Dutch Miller Gap Trail
  • Hike 4.5 miles on the old road/trail to reach the Goldmyer Hot Springs property.

Check in with the caretaker at the cabin before continuing 0.25 mile up to the hot springs pools.
